Dr Oz: Winter Skin Care Tips
As the seasons change, so does your skin care regimen. You will experience a different kind of dryness and the blood vessels in your skin shrink as the weather is cooler. WIth less fluid moving through your skin, you have painful, dry, raw skin.
Dr Rosemary Ingleton from Eucerin talked to Dr oz about winter skin care misconceptions. She explained that in the summer, skin care relies on gel type products. In the winter, you want to go for a cream. A cracked, dry skin is an invitation to infection. If you have a chronic skin condition, like psoriasis or eczema, you’ll get painful flare ups.
Dr Oz: Moisturizing Winter Skin Advice
The keyword to look for in skin care and soaps is “moisturizing.” Winter means losing moisture, means you need to replace. Dr Ingleton highly recommends ditching the fragrance and dyes.
Dr Oz: Winter Skin Exfoliation Tips
Exfoliation is also key. You want to invest in a nice body loofah or grad a scrub to get the excess dead skin. Dr Oz said this only takes a few times a week.
When you look for an exfoliator, look for urea, lactic acid, and alpha hydroxy acid. These are natural, chemical exfoliators that are OK to use daily.
Dr Oz: Eucerin Professional Repair Review
As a representative from Eucerin, Dr Ingleton likes the Eucerin Professional Repair, which runs at about $8. You put it on right after showing. This moisturizer is dye-free and can repair your dry skin. It was awarded a Good Housekeeping Seal of approval.
A before and after of the product definitely showed results for an audience member. She believed her legs were much smoother and softer after using Eucerin.
