Dr Oz: Immunity Boosting Foods
Dr John La Puma firmly believes that you can cure almost any ailment with food. He said that the best immunity boosting foods include: tahini, pumpkins, and black pepper and oregano.

Dr John La Puma and Dr Oz made their favorite pumpkin dishes, including a pumpkin soup recipe. Pumpkin is an immune boosting food.
Dr Oz: Tahini Immunity Boost Veggie Dip
Tahini is a spread made from ground sesame seeds, like peanut butter. He said it contains magnesium and zinc, key immune boosting ingredients. They will also activate your white blood cells. Dr Oz made a Tahini Veggie Dip:
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tablespoon tahini
- juice of 1 lemon
Mix these ingredients together and you will be able to get all of the magnesium and zinc you need in just a few tablespoons.
Immunity Boost: Black Pepper & Oregano
The anti-inflammatories found in black peppercorns are great for joint swelling. Oregano leaves can be used to kill Staph infections, E. Coli, and yeast infections. Just 2 teaspoons a week will boost your immunity.
Dr John La Puma Pumpkin Soup Recipe
Another immune boosting food, pumpkins have beta-carotene, an antioxidant that helps our bodies convert Vitamin A. Here is what you need for his pumpkin soup:
- 3 pound pumpkin
- 3 cups chicken stock
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, roasted
Preheat your oven to 400 and cut your pumpkin in half. Roast this for 45 minutes, then scoop the seeds out and set them aside. Put the pumpkin into a blender with the garlic, onion, and chicken stock. Mix this to your desired consistency.
Dr Oz Pumpkin Puree Recipe
If you’re loving the pumpkin, Dr Oz whipped up this pumpkin puree side dish. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 can pumpkin puree
- 1 teaspoon cholesterol-lowering spread
- pinch of stevia
- pinch of cinnamon
Mix all of your ingredients in a microwave safe bowl and heat for one minute in the microwave. Let it cool and serve.
