Dr Oz found that Omega-3s repair your gut lining and probiotics can treat Leaky Gut Syndrome. You should also go gluten-free to treat this condition.
Dr Oz: Diagnosing Leaky Gut Syndrome
Dr Oz introduced seven women that have battled with different illnesses, had multiple surgeries, and visited many different doctors trying to find answers to their symptoms. They all agreed that it was frustrating, but they may be suffering from Leaky Gut Syndrome. Luckily, there is a test to find out if this is the root of their problems.
The Intestinal Permeability Test helps figured out if anything is leaking through the intestinal wall. You take a beaker of fluid, including two different sized molecules of sugar. You drink this down with the small and large sugar molecules. The small particles go through normally, but if you have Leaky Gut, both sizes will go through and be present in your urine.
The women all had their urine tested and three of them tested positive for Leaky Gut Syndrome. Dr Robynne Chutkan said this test is highly suggestive of Leaky Gut. The women felt relieved to be rid of their fatigue, bloating and stomach pain.
Leaky Gut Syndrome: Remove Gluten & Sugar, Replace Good Bacteria & Repair with Omega-3s
Dr Chutkan broke down a proper diet with Leaky Gut Syndrome. We know that this condition can be treated and managed with a proper diet. The three steps are remove, replace and repair.
The first step is to remove gluten, dairy, refined sugars, alcohol, and nightshades (eggplant, potatoes, peppers, etc) from your diet. She said that removing NSAID pain relievers and antacids are also harmful with Leaky Gut.
Next, you want to replace the good bacteria. There are several ways to do this and the first is with fermented vegetables, including pickled products. The other way is taking a probiotic.
Finally, you want to repair the lining of your gut. You should consume Omega-3 rich foods to repair your lining, as well as glutamine powder. Flax seed, wild salmon, and nuts are excellent. Glutamine helps increase the cells in you gut lining.
