The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge Welcome a Baby Boy
The Royal Baby is finally here. The only detail left to find out is what Kate and Wills will name their first born son. It’s an ideal set up, under the old laws. The Prince and Princess welcome a son the first time out. Their work would be done and it could all be over, or just for fun, from here on out. Under the new laws, Kate’s child would have been the reigning monarch no matter what the gender.
Here are a few thoughts to tide you over until the name is announced, we guess sometime tomorrow as London is being put to bed.
10. Look back at Kate and Will’s romance.
This will fill your heads of thoughts of love and Alexander McQueen wedding gowns. Wasn’t their wedding just dreamy? Westminster Abbey, the silent looks of flirting at the alter, Pippa Middleton’s butt in that dress… it was such a whirlwind!
9. You just witnessed history being born… literally!
For those of us that weren’t around for the birth of William and Harry, this is exciting. We just saw history unfold on our Twitters, computers screens, smart phones, or televisions.
8. Kate and William are parents now…
This means no more skimpy bikinis on the yacht for Kate. She’s going to be styling one pieces, like her mother-in-law Princess Diana did. She’ll have quite the kiddo to keep up with. She and William are super active love birds. They may have just created an Olympic Athlete.
7. Kate’s Pregnancy
For some, the news of Kate Middleton’s pregnancy was tiresome. Every single day we got new news about Kate’s fashion or what color stroller she bought. For those of us that bought the special commemorative Us Weekly, Royal Baby Edition, this is like Christmas in July.
6. This kid will rule
We will have to wait through grandfather Prince Charles and his dad Prince William, but this is a person that will one day go through all of the things that William and Harry have and will. We’ll be watching their Royal Wedding, their Coronation, and see the things they do. He’s a baby now, but his life is going to be amazing.
5. William and Kate will give their son a normal life
As much as we will see the Prince of Cambridge horseback riding and hanging out with the Queen at her garden parties, we’ll also see the Prince having a normal life. His mom and dad will take him to Disney, Wizarding World, concerts, and of course, McDonalds. Royals, they’re just like us!
4. Did you win the Royal Baby Pool at work?
You might have some money coming your way!
3. Kate Middleton’s pregnancy fashion phase is over
Or did it ever really begin? Kate didn’t have to wear maternity clothing, she just went up in sizes at normal stores. That polka dot dress got a good wearing, but she also almost Marilyn-ed in it the other day. We will, however, miss that fetching Dalmation coat and the yellow dress that frequented charity functions.
2. His title hasn’t been used in over 190 years
That’s right. There hasn’t been a HRH First Prince of Cambridge for almost 200 years! If his life is anywhere near as long as his great-great-grandmother’s, we may not see it used for another 300 years.
1. Let’s all pray they give him a normal name
By normal we mean somewhere between Adam and Albert. Normal, but not overly common. The Cambridges seem to have a pool of good names (I’m favoring James). As long as it’s not a directional term, we’ll be good.
