“We Can’t Stop” Video Premiere: Twerking, Teddy Bears, & Product Placement Everywhere

My obsession with Miley grows by the day. She’s by no means a genius artist, but she’s someone to watch and ponder: what goes on in Miley’s head? Let’s just say, I would go to her party. But only if she gives me a lesson in twerking so I can fit in.
As a Miley officianado, here’s the deal with her music video for “We Can’t Stop.” I love it, but I noticed some really weird stuff.
Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” Music Video Review & Product Placement
It starts out with Miley cutting off an ankle monitor. I feel like this is an homage to Lindsay Lohan, who by now has her own line of ankle monitors. She pumps up the song on her portable MP3 player – Beats by Dre, total product placement -and then pops in a bottom grill and brushes her pompadour while snarling at the mirror.
From there, Miley seductively dances on a bed, giving you the “come hither” face, and a dude eats a sandwich made of money. Time for another product placement – eos lip balm. Miley dances with what I want to say is a drag queen.
Then, it gets weird. Miley’s friend pretends to cut off her fingers with a steak knife and mouth “ow” at the camera. Miley and her pals dance with giant teddy bears, because she can.
Miley Twerks in “We Can’t Stop” Video
Twerk time! The first twerks appear around 1:15, when Miley and crew show off their “big butts,” her words not mine! A guy shoots smoke out of is crotch and Miley makes out with a giant Barbie doll. Back in the pool, everyone is floating around and in the house, everyone is headbanging.
Wrapping things up, Miley likes to stick out her tongue, because it’s her party and she can do what she wants to. She wrestles in hot dogs, I think, and then snuggles up with an unidentified man, that I can tell is not Liam Hemsworth.
Is Miley’s “We Can’t Stop” Music Video Good?
That remains to be seen. Some will say it’s a hodge podge of weirdness, but Miley fans could get down. I can see throw backs to her “I Can’t Be Tamed” video (lingering and touching herself), and the new Miley shines like a star. Her persona comes through and that’s what Miley wanted.
